Know Your Options. Your health is important!

There is real value in having an ultrasound scan, especially prior to taking mifepristone, aka a chemical at-home abortion. Why?

  • If the pregnancy is ectopic, mifepristone (the abortion pill) may not end the pregnancy and could cause significant health concerns to you if the pregnancy continues to grow outside of the uterus.

  • The abortion pill is less effective beyond 10 weeks (FDA) and many women are incorrect on their dates! (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) estimates only half of all women recall an accurate LMP.) The ACOG considers first-trimester ultrasonography to be the most accurate method to establishing or confirming gestational age.

  • You should know if your pregnancy is viable or not, and what your options are based on the dating of the pregnancy.

The AAPOG along with the ACR both confirm the acceptable standard of care is to obtain a sonogram evaluation of the pregnancy before performing a significant medical or surgical procedure (abortion pill) during pregnancy.

Bloom PRC offers all these pregnancy confirmations at no charge. Our medical staff will perform the ultrasound, which is also free, and confidential.

Be a woman who is informed, supported, and empowered to make good choices!
